Civil engineering is the oldest branch of engineering which is growing right from stone age of civilization.

The main branch of civil engineering are as follows :
  • Surveying and Leveling
  • Building planning and construction
  • Advanced Construction
  • Geo-technical Engineering 
  • Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineering 
  • Water Resource Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Town Planning

   Scope of Civil Engineering:

Civil engineering is the broadest and oldest branch of engineering. The main scope of civil engineering is:

  • Planning
  • Designing
  • Estimating and costing
  • Supervising construction
  • Construction management
  • Maintenance of structure, etc
The scope of civil engineering may be divided into two groups:
  • Scope according to the fieldwork
  • Scope according to the function
Scope according to the fieldwork :
  • Building construction
  • Construction of heavy structure
  • Transportation engineering
  • Water resources engineering
  • Geo- technical engineering
  • Environmental engineering
  • Town planning
I will only explain you the three types of fieldworks.
1) Building construction:
  • Constructing residents building like bungalow, row house, apartment, etc
  • Constructing public building like railway station, school, college, hospital, government office, etc
2) Construction of heavy structure:
  • Constructing bridge , dams
  • Constructing airport, harbour, port
  • Constructing tunnels, cassion, cofferdam
3) Transportation engineering:
  • Constructing road, highway
  • Constructing railway, runway, airport
  • Traffic engineering
  • Study of highway material

Types of communication

Four types of Communication: 1) Verbal Communication: Verbal communication can also be called as Oral communication. In very simple terms, any communication that happens orally between people is known as verbal communication. The objective of such communications is to ensure that people understand whatever you want to convey. Because of its very nature, verbal communications is more quick and precise then email communication. Nowadays, Verbal communication is an important aspect and is looked as a key strength in an  individual . 2) Non verbal communication: Non-verbal communications or interpersonal communications.
