The main branch of civil engineering are as follows :
  • Surveying and Leveling
  • Building planning and construction
  • Advanced Construction
  • Geo-technical Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Water Resource Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Town Planning

   Scope of Civil Engineering:

Civil engineering is the broadest and oldest branch of engineering. The main scope of civil engineering is:

  • Planning
  • Designing
  • Estimating and costing
  • Supervising construction
  • Construction management
  • Maintenance of structure, etc
The scope of civil engineering may be divided into two groups:
  • Scope according to the fieldwork
  • Scope according to the function
Scope according to the fieldwork :
  • Building construction
  • Construction of heavy structure
  • Transportation engineering
  • Water resources engineering
  • Geo- technical engineering
  • Environmental engineering
  • Town planning
I will only explain you the three types of fieldworks.
1) Building construction:
  • Constructing residents building like bungalow, row house, apartment, etc
  • Constructing public building like railway station, school, college, hospital, government office, etc
2) Construction of heavy structure:
  • Constructing bridge , dams
  • Constructing airport, harbour, port
  • Constructing tunnels, cassion, cofferdam
3) Transportation engineering:
  • Constructing road, highway
  • Constructing railway, runway, airport
  • Traffic engineering
  • Study of highway material

Honda City

HONDA CITY: The  Honda City  is a subcompact car  which has been produced by the Japanese manufacturer Honda since 1981. The sixth generation City was unveiled in India on 25 November 2013 and is available with a choice of two engines in India; a new 1.5-litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC turbodiesel and a refined version of the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol. The new 1.5-litre turbodiesel engine, which also powers the Honda Amazes  is certified to deliver a mileage of 26  km/l (ARAI), making the sixth generation City the most fuel efficient car in its segment. The City has always been popular in India, its sales doubled after it was launched with a diesel engine. In March 2015, the City became the fastest selling compact sedan to reach the 1 lakh (100,000) mark in just 15 months. Features of Honda city: Unveiled in India, the sixth generation City is Honda's second model to incorporate the new "Exciting H" design which was first seen on the third generation

ELECTRIC CARS PART 1

ELECTRIC CARS : INTRODUCTION: An electric cars  is an automobile  that is propelled by one or more electric motors , using energy stored in recharge batteries . The first practical electric cars were produced in the 1880 s.  Electric cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century, until advances in internal combustion engines, electric starters  in particular, and mass production  of cheaper gasoline vehicles led to a decline in the use of electric batteries. TYPES OF ELECTRIC CARS: There are three main types of electric vehicles E.V, classed by the degree that electricity is used as their energy source. B.E.V, or battery electric vehicles, P.H.E.V of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and H.E.V, or hybrid electric vehicles. Only B.E.V are capable of charging on a level 3, DC fast  Battery Electric Vehicles (B.E.V): Battery Electric Vehicles, also called B.E.V, and more frequently called E.V, are fully-electric vehicles with rechar

DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PART-1

DATABASE   MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: INTRODUCTION : A database system is  basically just a computerized record -keeping system. The database itself can be regarded as a kind of electronic of  filing cabinet; that is ,it is a repository or container for a collection of computerized data files .User of the system can perform a variety of operations involving such files -for example: Adding new files to the database Inserting data into existing files  Retrieving data from existing files Deleting data from existing files Changing data in existing files  WHAT IS DATABASE SYSTEM  ?    To repeat from the previous section, a database system is basically a computerized record -keeping system; In other words ,it is a computerized system whose overall purpose is to store information and to allow user to retrieve and update that information and to allow user to retrieve and update that information on demand. The information in question can be anything that is of significanc
